When you first return to the ramp and retrieve your vessel there are a few things you should note:

bulletBefore bringing the trailer to the waters edge, first check that no one has fiddled with your trailer coupling. eg undone safety chain or taken D-shackle, winch handle or unlocked the tow-bar from the coupling.
bulletWhen you first put vessel on trailer, secure the winch cable AND safety chain before proceeding up ramp.
bulletWhen you remove the bungs, watch to see how much water comes out.  If any or more than usual, get the hull checked for any damage or hairline cracks in welds or seams and check the bungs have not lost their washers or have worn thread.
bulletSecure all gear on-board and tie down boat to trailer before leaving the ramp.
bulletAt home,
bulletRemove all gear and check it.
bulletWash boat AND trailer with fresh water, including anchor and rope.
bulletReturn all gear to vessel (or ensure it is returned before next outing)
bulletCheck trailer and bearings - regrease if required.
bulletSecure vessel and trailer with trailer hitch lock,
