DAVES BOAT YARD has been around for almost 30 years in different parts of the far north and as far away as Darwin. Daves Boatyard is a family business owned by David and Joanne Povis. We have 4 kids together Tavis-Lee, Jessica , Jason-Jack , Max-Reileigh .

My business associates and all those involved in the yard are all professionals of many different fields ( Computer Engineers, Electricians, Plumbers, Welders) and all of us enjoy the totally laid back approach of the yards atmosphere, yet maintain a professional approach to all . Our passion is all about boating and adventure . We are always planning recreation time where we will take our 21' Trojan on some touching journeys across many miles of coastal waters.
Our ventures include Cooktown to Cape Grenville over 3 weeks, many times from Lucinda to Cairns via the Hinchenbrook Channel. Our latest journey was to tow our trusty steed to Weipa over 800 km of really shitty road then take all 6 of us up the west coast of Queensland to the Torres Strait, just camping and threatening a fish or two . After all that, I want to repair or sell your boat for you, fix your engine, help you learn how to drive a boat and get a licence or just have a chat - We are all about a YES solution .
