To obtain a boat or PWC (JetSki) licence you only need to call one of our trainers or booking offices to confirm a mutually convenient day and time to do a competency based training course.

Our Professional BoatSafe Trainers are there to help you learn the basics in theory and on-water practical skills for you to become a competent master of your vessel and qualify for the issue of a recreational licence for either boat or PWC operations.

We will supply the boat for you to use for your on-water practical instruction and assessment.  Most of our trainers also supply the Personal Watercraft (PWC or JetSki) for your use.  In regional country areas where it is difficult to trailer both a boat and PWC at once, you may be asked to supply your own PWC.  In this case your PWC must be registered, seaworthy, insured and in good working order.  Please check your PWC before the course and fill with fresh fuel and top up the oil if necessary.  Run the motor briefly before leaving home.

If you are borrowing a friends' PWC, please get a run-down from the owner on start-up and operating procedures from the owner.  We will ask you to repeat them to us to ensure you knowledge and understanding of your particular PWC.

If the PWC has been sitting for a long time in a shed or yard, be careful of wasp nests and snakes or spiders in the PWC.  (Seriously - we have had a PWC turn up with a black snake in the jet unit).

Boating is fun - and that is how we like our courses to run.  We will do whatever we can to ensure you learn and get your licence and have fun in the process.
